Wild Honey Orchestra & Guests

PERFORM THE BEACH BOYS 1967-1977
A BENEFIT FOR THE AUTISM THINK TANK & THE CHILDREN'S MUSIC FUND

  • This event has passed.

With its namesake Beach Boys’ 1967 LP as its inspiration, the Wild Honey Orchestra and Guest Artists will explore the Beach Boys’ dazzling post-Pet Sounds work from Smiley Smile (1967) onward to 1977’s underground classic The Beach Boys Love You. From the classic hits Good Vibrations, Heroes and Villains, Sail On Sailor and Surf’s Up to the underdog gems from amazing records like Wild Honey, Friends, 20/20, Sunflower, Holland, and many more, over 30 songs from this incredible era will be brought to life with full orchestration in the same manner as last year’s Wild Honey productions of the Beatles’ White Album at the Alex. The Wild Honey Orchestra, a loose collective of LA’s finest musicians, will be joined by the Bangles, Matthew Street, Susan Cowsill, and many others in a gala event that will benefit the non-profit organizations the Autism Think Tank and the Children’s Music Fund.

The Autism Think Tank connects world-renowned autism experts, via tele-medicine, with families suffering from the harrowing complexities of autism. The Children’s Music Fund provides music therapy and musical instruments to children and young adults with chronic or life-altering illnesses and supports research on the effects of music therapy. Wild Honey founder Paul Rock’s eleven-year-old son Jacob has been greatly helped by both organizations.
