Tango Nuevo Cabaret by Sergei Tumas is a tribute to the music of legendary Argentine composer Astor Piazzolla (1921 – 1992), who created the Tango Nuevo genre of music in 1954, incorporating elements of Argentine Tango, Jazz & Classical music. This explosive show will arrive at the historic Alex Theatre on 7 February 2015 and features a cast of renowned tango/jazz musicians and dancers from Argentina and the world. Special guest artists include internationally acclaimed Broadway singer Martin De Leon and none other than seasoned master of bandoneon, Daniel Binelli, who – having toured internationally with Piazzolla’s Sextet – is acclaimed as the foremost torchbearer of Astor’s music.
