Jeffrey Kahane envelops a Mozart and a marimba concerto between a West Coast premiere and Haydn’s spirited Symphony No. 88. LACO principal percussion Wade Culbreath reveals the soulful, driving rhythms of French composer Emmanuel Séjourné’s intriguing Concerto for Marimba and Strings. Richard Goode, ‘widely admired as one of the foremost Mozart pianists America has produced,’ demonstrates the tremendous emotional power, depth and expressiveness of the composer’s Concerto No. 18.
