Los Angeles Chamber Orchestra Presents

Kahane Plays Mozart

  • This event has passed.

Firsts and a fond farewell: Kahane opens the concert with a new work by Christopher Cerrone, composer of the opera Invisible Cities premiered at Union Station, and closes with LACO’s first-ever Orchestral Series performance of Schubert’s final symphony. At the heart of the evening is a signature experience of the Kahane era: Jeffrey conducting Mozart from the keyboard. For his farewell, Kahane has chosen Mozart’s final piano concerto. No doubt, he will again let ‘Mozart’s shimmering cascading phrases convey the emotion’ (Omaha World-Herald ). Be there!

Program includes:

Jeffrey Kahane, conductor & piano

CHRISTOPHERE CERRONE – LACO commission (world premiere)
MOZART – Piano Concerto No. 27
SCHUBERT – Symphony No. 9, ‘The Great C-major’

Programs and artists subject to change.

7:00 PM – Pre-Concert Preludes – Ticket includes admission. Some Preludes feature LIVE performances of short chamber works. All provide interesting insights into the music and artists.
