From Chile to Tiananmen Square to Bernstein’s famous performance in Berlin following the fall of the Berlin Wall, Beethoven’s ‘Ode to Joy’ is both protest anthem and a celebration of the human spirit. In a concert for the ages, Kahane conducts LACO’s first-ever performance of Beethoven’s inspiring ‘Choral’ Symphony with the Los Angeles Master Chorale.
