Los Angeles Ballet Academy Presents

Oklahoma! The Ballet

  • This event has passed.

Oklahoma! The Ballet, inspired by the music of Rodgers and Hammerstein. LABA’s ballet depicts life in a small American town in 1906 and explores being young, having hopes and fears, and growing up. Cowboy Curly McLain looks forward to the beautiful day as he wanders into farm girl Laurey Williams’ yard. Meanwhile, Will Parker returns souvenir-laden from a trip to modern Kansas City with gifts for his girlfriend Ado Annie. In Parker’s absence, Ado Annie has been spending time with Ali Hakem, the Persian Peddler. Watch as the Farmers and Cowboys enjoy a box social and a dance; watch, too, as dreams become nightmares when the lonely, disturbed farm hand Jud Fry becomes obsessed with Laurey and she must struggle with her feelings. Where will fate take this cast of characters?…
