La Rubia Productions presents HERENCIA FLAMENCA, an all-star line-up of Flamenco artists featuring explosive dancer Yolanda Arroyo and guitar virtuoso Paco Arroyo along with Spain’s hottest flamenco musicians and singers of today. This dynamic company represents the finest of traditional and contemporary trends in flamenco.

Since its premiere in 2014, Herencia Flamenca’s unrestrained energy, raw emotion, and commanding virtuosity have garnered overwhelming recognition and praise from international audiences and reviewers alike. These world-class dancers, singers and instrumentalists have been described as ‘impressive,’ with ‘outstanding skill.’ Paco and Yolanda Arroyo acknowledge,
‘we are extremely fortunate to be able to present such exceptional artists in our upcoming season. They are all brilliant performers, accomplished and well respected throughout the world of flamenco, and it is our honor and pleasure to be able to share the stage with them in June of 2016.’

Born out of a mix of races in Andalusia, flamenco today is universal. As authentic as its homeland, yet as free and vital as its greatest interpreters – the gypsies – it is, as it was then, a radical art form. At its core is cante (song), baile (dance), and toque (guitar), a dynamic conversation in which the singer creates, the dancer reacts, and the guitar unifies. Cante and compas (rhythm cycles) are the backbone of this profound trilogy.
