The NAFCA (Nollywood African Film Critics Award) are prestigious awards for achievements in the film industry and The NAFCA Honors are awarded to recognize outstanding individuals whose professional careers have been marked by extraordinary personal and professional accomplishments. Honorees and winners are awarded the NAFCA Trophies, officially the Award of Merit that is much better known by its nickname NAFCA. The award was first presented in 2011 to President Nelson Mandela. Recipients of this award in subsequent years include James Brown, Bobby Womack, President Paul Biya, President Yahya Jammeh of The Gambia, Oscars’ award winner Louis Gossett Jr., Hollywood actors Glynn Thurman, Keith David, Marla Gibbs, Steven Williams and Lawrence Hilton Jacobs, among others. This year’s performers include the smooth sounds of R&B star Keith Washington and veteran Honoree, Ted Wizard Mills of the group Blue Magic, and many more. The NAFCA and The NAFCA Honors are designed to globally promote African Cinema and culture. The I Dream 4 All Foundation (501c3) is producing this year’s show and will donate proceeds to the Haitian and Florida communities.
